PREDICTION OF FUTURE LAND USE LAND COVER (LULC) AND ASSESSMENT OF ITS IMPACT ON THE WATER SUPPLY AVAILABILITY OF BUTUAN CITY-TAGUIBO RIVER WATERSHED AND FOREST RESERVE (TRWFR), PHILIPPINES

Abstract. The Taguibo River Watershed and Forest Reserve (TRWFR) is the primary source of water supply in Butuan City. However, intermittent became a problem for years now especially dry seasons. Hence, this study intended to assess impacts LULC change TRWFR by generating predict temporal land covers determine impact these current future watershed. This used Google Earth Engine (GEE) generate maps from year 2013–2021 which will be as inputs prediction. QGIS MOLUSCE Plugin was cover 2024. generated predicted 2021 2024, respectively, were then simulate streamflow using Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model. analysis SWAT model watershed, with 2013–2024, showcased increase 3225.53 liter per second (lps) 2013, 3267.10 lps 3239.73 With results hydrologic modeling, there an flow 2013 might due vegetation but probable decrease show that has effect watershed could assessed through modeling.
